Finally my summer begins!! I wrote my last exam yesterday and have been chilling ever since. I am now done with grade 10. #yippy 

Remember last year, this time I was super excited and super stoked for summer? Well this year I'm even more keen for it. (my Pinterest boards will show you how excited I am.) This summer I want to challenge myself and you to be rather daring and colourful. You see when it comes to putting an outfit together I always go the monochrome way but now I am challenging myself to add some colour into my life and you should too.

I posted a while ago that I had entered the Mr and Miss Durban Youth pageant and that I was one of the 16 finalists. The pageant was held at the Durban City Hall on the 6th of October and the theme was "A Night Circus Experience"

The night consisted of different performances including a dance routine done by the models. 

Thank you to Cinderella's for making all the ladies look like princesses.





I truly had a great experience and I would say I am very proud of myself for taking part in the pageant, (something I would have never thought of doing) I am also proud of my fellow contestants, we have all grown during this journey and I thank God for letting me come across great people like you.

I have awesome news to share with you all. I recently entered a pageant hosted by The Durban Youth Council called Mr and Miss Durban Youth. And by the grace of God I am one of the 16 finalists. Mr and Miss Durban Youth isn't a full on beauty pageant but a stepping stone for The Durban Youth Council to find capable ambassadors for their organization.

For the past two weeks I have been working with the other finalists rehearsing sequences and routines for the big night. The event will be held  on the 6th of October. Tickets will be on sale soon soon, so do let me know if you are in need of any at kteemakua98@gmail.com

One thing I realised about myself and other young girls and ladies is that we are prone to comparing ourselves to other people. Honestly I am not a total fan of this as it can bring one's self-confidence down and make you be unhappy with your self image. 

Social networks like Instagram, (oh by the way follow me @tlegoo ) are one of the main causes of this situation. I realised that it's not healthy for me to be viewing someone's profile for ages, pin pointing everything of theirs and comparing it to mine.

One day I was looking through a girl's profile who is about my age and has similar interests to mine. I got up to it again, looking through her pictures and her videos, comparing myself to her saying, "why don't I have this" or "why don't I look like that", but then something caused me to stop and I know it was the Holy Spirit. He convicted me from carrying on and made me realise that what I was doing was a complete waste of time. I then dropped my phone and started thinking to myself that I could and will never be like this girl because I am not meant to be like her, I am who I am, God's unique workmanship.

Many of us ladies love taking concern into each other, whether it being others achievements, beauty, hairstyle, clothing, almost everything. We all know the saying, "if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all". It means that if your friend did something nice to her hair or bought something pretty don't notice it and not compliment her on it, rather keep quiet because noticing without complimenting is just as worse as not complimenting at all.

Now instead of staying on some strangers profile I just linger and admire mine until I am fully satisfied with joy in my heart and confidence in myself because that is something no one could ever take away from me. So I decide to stay in my own lane when it comes to everything and anything.  Comparing yourself to somebody else does cause an unnecessary headache.

So this past weekend auditions for SA's Got Talent were being held in Durban. And I can't believe I'm saying this but I auditioned along with my little brother. We both had our own acts and it was quite fun.
