My fashion lovers! It's the third week or so of the year and 2013 is going quite well for me so far, but I can only say this by the amazing grace of God.

Recently I purchased a pair of Chuck Taylor's or Converses as some of us may know them as and I am in love!! I love these shoes because you can literally wear them with anything! With jeans, skirts, dresses, these shoes are a bargain and definitely a keep because they will NEVER get out of fashion.

Roses are red

Red is one of my favourite colours and I just fell in love with them. Most of the trends that are in season right now have been around for quite a while actually. Such as the peplum and high-waist pants are trends from the 80's and 90's. I know right, and I thought they were recent.

So if you are into vintage and are into making the old into new, go ahead and raid your mother's closet and see what you can find there. (But do ask before...I don't want to get into trouble now.

Local Talent

I have had a passion for fashion almost all my life and it makes me so happy to see local designers doing their thing. Before even thinking of supporting international designers why don't you take a look at some of your local talents. I was recently introduced to Katrina Chunga, a designer from Polokwane. She has a phenomenal style that is actually indescribable.

I love how she works with african prints and textures and pairs them with simple items. She is an inspiration to me and I'm sure to other youngsters too. Her unique clothing line is called Ri.Ch and has made me fall in love with her style.

First of 2013

2013...It's going to take some time to get used to it. As many of you have been saying "new year, new beginnings", well I would like to start this year with nice post that'll help you through out the year.

Tlego's Do's and Don't's

I figured some of need this post because we didn't all rock the trends of 2012 either properly or uniquely.

1. Don't alter your style or wardrobe according to trends. Trends are very hard to keep up with so always make sure you work what is good for you with a taste of your own personal style.

2. Don't overdo neons and brights. Come on people, do you really want to be looking like a fluorescent light bulb?

Instead pair your neons with neutrals like blacks, greys, whites and browns.

3. Do invest in statement jewellery. Chunky necklaces are great for making a simple outfit more outgoing.

4. Don't do / overdo colourblocking. For example wearing a green top with red jeans, instead wear the top with a neutral pant and red shoes or accessories. It works and looks much better.
